David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.
Acclaimed young adult author and comedian David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, according to an announcement.
A representative for the publisher commented: "After careful consideration, and under the leadership of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing any new titles by David Walliams."
Reports indicate that the decision was made after an review of allegations of inappropriate behaviour towards women.
The company did not confirm the motivations for this action, stating: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."
An Illustrious Writing Journey
Walliams stands as a most successful children's authors, having sold more than 60 million copies worldwide in 55 languages.
The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins in 2008.
Some of his titles, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into television films.
His bibliography includes more than 40 books combined, which features a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.

He first rose to fame on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 for his services to charity and the arts.
The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
